I have emailed the two co-chairmans of Mount Airy Town Hall Yard Waste/Recycling (Mr. Neff-retiredtom@verizon.net, and Mr. Stargel-stargelstar@aol.com) regarding the yard waste/recycling schedule that is currently every two weeks on early Saturday mornings. This schedule is TERRIBLE for residents as it does not allow homeowners to complete their yard work over the weekend when most people are off work. All too often, residents are forced to store their rotting yard waste in their garages for sometimes up to two weeks!
I have spoken with other residents and they are very much in agreement. Yard waste/recycling should be scheduled for pick up on a WEEKDAY. I encourage, in fact plead, that everyone to email both of these gentlemen with your concerns and perhaps attend their next meeting on November 18th.
