This goes out to all the complainers who are getting letters, for modifications they did not get approval for.

When everyone closed on their home, they signed a civil contract stating what the rules where and they would agree to follow them. If you chose not to read the contract you were signing, you have no one to blame but yourself! Ignorance of the law or DCCR's in this case is not excuse for breaking the rules.

If you made a modification without approval and are getting letters from SBB, you are similar to the same people who granted approval to Jim and Cathy Smith then decided they wanted to change the rules, after the fact. Welcome to our HOA's world.

On the other hand, if you seek approval before modifications, get it and it is rescinded perceivably arbitrarily then you are walking in Jim and Cathy Smith's shoes. Welcome to their world.

Get of your high horse and follow the rules like everyone else. Or better yet, why did any of else buy into an HOA in the first place?

Ever been to an advisory committee meeting. It is run on the seat of their pants! Rules are enforced only after it goes through ''Malcolm'' after he checks with the developer. The DCCR's are subjective. I have seen that in person!
