I would like to propose something to our petty neighborhood association members..... 

 

Since our neighborhood account has a surplus of money and can pay for a trial, which was lost, Why can't something nice be done for the people who pay the money? 

 

I would like to propose that the HOA, instead of sending petty mailbox violations and threatening legal fees if nothing is done, do something nice and paint/replace/update our mailboxes for us.  After all it is our NEIGHBORHOOD's money.  

 

If they want  all the mailboxes the same (and OUR money is just sitting in the account) offer this as a community update?   After all, what else has been done to keep up the looks besides minimal landscaping  at our entrances?

 

Just putting that out there as a way for our HOA to give back to the community using the money we have paid to them......

 

 

 

 

I totally agree with ladybug about the mailboxes.  The HOA should use the money to update everyone's mailbox considering we didn't have much if any snow removed this year, and we haven't had to do much with the landscape considering the drought we are in. 

 

Also if the HOA is going to enforce the mailbox code then every code and covenant should be enforced.  You can't pick and choose what you are enforcing and expect everyone to take action on one item when there are other covenants/codes being violated daily in this neighborhood.

In response to the letter that I received from the HOA...Bite me...The letters on my box are fine. If the post office has a problem with my post that prevents them from delivering mail, I will fix it...Until then, follow my first directive...As far as you or anyone else coming on my private property for any reason other than being social ie; (doing any kind of repair) I will have you or your agents arrested for criminal tresspass. This is my property, I pay the mortgage here. Until you start paying it, stay the hell off my land. Period!!!

After speeking to council, I would like to know if there is any interest in filing a joint law suit against the hoa board of directors, specifically the president. This would be for not maintaining all covenants and to pay out of pocket for all infractions to be brought up to date. These infractions have lowered our property values.
