Welcome to the West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association

Together, we do make a difference.


The West 29th Avenue Neighborhood is an area of quiet tree lined streets with businesses and single family homes with residents of various backgrounds and ages. West 29th Avenue's neighborhood commercial centers, always convenient to the neighborhood pedestrian, have also evolved over the years not only in response to the growth of the neighborhood but due to the changes in modes of mass transportation. Streetcars carried downtown commuters along West 29th Avenue in the 1900's. Around streetcar stops small business flourished and these centers are still thriving. Today the West 29th Avenue Neighborhood represents middle class America from diverse backgrounds and cultures. Several small business areas support the community.

In March of 1997 the West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association was formed to enhance and protect the quality of the neighborhood. The association will represent the interests of the community by providing a focal point from which to address common issues. Today we are a strong registered neighborhood association known as the West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association.

The West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association is bounded by 28th Avenue to 30th Avenue and Sheridan Blvd. to Stuart Street and is composed of approximately 400 households and various businesses.

Our goal is to build a neighborhood organization to deal with city policies, development, zoning, neighborhood and city resources and other concerns of the neighborhood. Formation of committees evolves directly from community issues and concerns.

The West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association meets the Third Tuesday of the Odd Month 7:00 P.M. location to be annonced. The West 29th Avenue Neighborhood Association looks to continue serving the needs and interests of the neighborhood and invites you to attend our meetings, meet your neighbors and become involved.

The West 29th. Ave. Neighborhood Association strives to create and promote a positive image of the neighborhood, enjoys a strong sense of community, and takes pride in and responsibility for the neighborhood.

We are an organization which brings people together to share in ;preserving the past, improving the present, and planning ro the future. As our neighborhood changes and grows, a member can have a voice in our future, and we can help each other with common issues such as:
*Foster community and neighborhood relationships
*Enhance the vitality of the business & residential neighborhood along West 29th Ave.
*Seek improved pedestrian and vehicular traffic safety
*Enhance neighborhood aesthetics
*Promote a positive image of the neighborhood & develop The Association's identity and visibility
*Provide a unified, effective voice for the neighborhood
*Encourage representation and nurture cooperation among diverse groups

We encourage and envision the involvement of other Neighborhood Groups and the residents inside or outside of our boundaries for the mutual improvement of Northwest Denver.
