My family and I are planning to move to TX, we are currently living in the southwestern part of Pennsylvania.  We will be staying here until my husband visits the area there to see where is a good place to move to.  It doesn't look like it will be in Fort Worth, are there any other cities that are under greater leadership other then Fort Worth?  Is the drilling going on in all areas around Fort Worth?  It sounds like your city is being driven by corruption.  I think that is in ever big city.  There has been things mentioned on the news here in PA about Fort Worth being taken over by drilling, we are up against it as well, another Shale, The Marcellus Shale,  once things like this start happening it just breeds greed!

All I can say is it is time to vote out those who are leading your city and get a clean slate.   It does sound like your mayor and council members are being led by greed and probably have been bought out by the driller companies.  Good luck and thanks for the heads up....

I don't think it's fair to slam all of Fort Worth just because of gas drilling.

What I can tell you is this....neighborhoods have gotten wise in the last several years and have learned to better "control" the beast that is gas drilling.

Greater Meadowbrook is a darn good example.  Approx. 4000 contiguous acres that will not have any gas wells in it's boundaries, EXCEPT for ones that were negotiated by another company with a paltry offer that will probably be allowed to expire because MOST neighbors stuck by each other and held out for a community lease that put quality of life first.

Time will tell if we got to eat our cake and have it too.
