I applaud the people who have recently educated us in neighborhood meetings about Historic Designations... I think East Washington Park is WORTHY of a designation, not because of name, but because it should be protected! Some people don't (want to) UNDERSTAND that QUALITY is better than quantity. Let's preserve it's beauty for the next millenium! (For you who want to participate on this topic see the Wash Pk Profile for meeting dates... we need you there!)

whose idea of quality?
I don't want a committee to be in the position to prohibit me from adding space to a small house (within current zoning restrictions) or making changes to existing space because it doesn't jibe with their precious opinion of what 'quality' is.

Historic Designations
Historic designations sound nice, but when you get historic designations you get government intervention on everything: the type of tree youy plant, the colors you can paint your house, the type of flowers you can grow etc. We don't need anymore government. If you want a controlled community like that, then a covenant controlled community would be nice.

Quality
Quality is pretty apparent. It's NOT a REMUDDLE.
