Ok anonymous; you want me to give you the table. You talk about a group forming in BF; I thoroughly checked the Enterprise for this information and there was none. Why the secret meetings. If you are relying on the strength of Broomfield citizens; why not call out the teams. Why is Hank talking to Westy Window with comments of "serious consequences; but the Enterprise is silent? Is this the way the City Council works now; in dark, secret, smoke-filled rooms drawing cards?

You posted a question on 9/28 and 9/29 - How does repeal solve the problem?
I DID respond to your question on the 28th. One problem with this discussion board is that when responses get nested about 5 deep, they don't show up on the overall listing. But if you open your original posting asking the question, and look at the listing at the bottom, you should see my response. Sorry, I knew better than to nest it that deep, I just wasn't paying attention when I did it. And I noticed it this evening when I was re-reading some old stuff.

After reading all of the definitions of ehtical, I think it is fair to say that we have a pretty good consensus about the meaning of ethical. Now, the challenge is to apply the definition to what you believe and to what I believe is ethical. I have already said Broomfield did not do anything unethical in deciding where to build its jail. Broomfield obviously looked at where existing county jails were built and did not see anything wrong with its decision. A jail 11/2 miles away from you is not in your neighborhood. You can argue this all you want, but your argument fails to meet the standard of what is ethical in the location of county jails.
Regarding how Broomfield became a county is really moot. The entire state voted on the question. I repeat what I said before - Broomfield citizens at the statewide election approved the City County constitutional amendment by a 62% majority. For some reason, Br. Anonymous can not accept this fact and wants you to revisit all of the opposition''s reasons for opposing the City and County. They lost and they are obviously sore losers. Now, he or she is encouraging you to fight the battle all over. Br. Anonymous and some of CVELG''s members seem to have a mixed opinion of what is ethical. For example, Br. Anonymous says that Broomfield has become an Interlocken company town. This perception could have some validity if Interlocken were a major business or company employing a great many people. Such is not the case. In the Interlocken business park are many individual companies such as Sun Microsystem, Level 3, Corporate Express, McData, and many others. To assert that Broomfield is an Interlocken town does not make any sense.
It is not at all unusual for the private sector to provide funds for public improvements. Budweiser provided funds for a new highway interchange. The private sector contributed funds for the interchange at 104th and US 36 in Westminster. One of the reasons the private sector does so is because of the lack of public funds for such improvements. This is not unethical. It is a business decision the private sector makes.
For anyone to say that Interlocken controls Broomfield is, by definition, unethical because it is not the truth. Do the owners of the Westminster Mall control the city of Westminster? Of course not. Does Coors control the city of Golden? Not at all. Coors facility is not even within the Golden city limits. Yet, Coors has assisted Golden in the past with various projects. The state of Colorado has encouraged public/private partnerships. Is this unethical? No.
Some of you seem to be disturbed that Interlocken contributed more money to the City and County campaign than anyone else and, because of this, there must be something sinister involved. My review concludes such is not the case. Interlocken has a right to contribute to campaigns and Interlocken received no special considerations from Broomfield whatsoever. The words Br. Anonymous put in Interlocken''s Jim Long''s mouth are disgraceful and highly unethical.
