Regarding the Northwest Parkway and Interlocken, you are confusing several things. First, the initial group formed to work on the Parkway was the Northwest Parkway Nonprofit Corporation. The city of Broomfield contributed $100,000 to this nonprofit corporation. Members of the nonprofit corporation's board of directors included three representatives from the city of Broomfield and one representative from Interlocken. There were no members from any other city on this board. This nonprofit corporation did preliminary work regarding the feasibility of the Northwest Parkway.

Second, there is an intergovernmental agreement among Boulder County, Broomfield, Lafayette, and Louisville. This IGA addresses the route of the Parkway and extensive open space designations along the Parkway corridor. The IGA sets forth a consensus among the parties regarding matters pertaining to the Parkway. There is no board of directors related to this IGA.

Third, a Northwest Parkway Public Highway Authority was recently formed by Weld County, the city of Broomfield, and the city of Lafayette. This Highway Authority will focus on the engineering, toll fee studies and analyses, certain open space acquisitions, and the actual construction of the Parkway from I-25 and a connection with E-470 to U.S. 36 and S.H. 128.

You make an inference that there is some connection between the NW Parkway and the city/county. In fact, there is none. You said that there is a correlation between the two in time. So what? A great many things occurred during this time frame. Anybody could say that one thing or another related to the city/county effort. For example, Broomfield acquired Big Thompson water rights so this must be related to the city/county; Broomfield is providing water service for the Jefferson County Airport so this must be related to the city/county; Broomfield and Westminster entered into an intergovernmental agreement regarding Kohl's at 120th and Sheridan so this must relate to the city/county. Somebody could say that anything Broomfield did during this period of time related to the city/county. They can say it. But it's not the truth.

Does Interlocken support the Parkway? Yes. Does the city of Broomfield support the Parkway? Yes. Does the city of Lafayette support the Parkway? Yes. Does Weld County support the Parkway? Yes. Is there a consensus among Boulder County and the cities of Broomfield, Lafayette, and Louisville regarding the Parkway? Yes. Is all of this related to the city/county? NO.

Am I in favor of the Parkway? Yes. Why? Because I believe the Parkway will provide reasonable access for our area to DIA and I believe that the Parkway will relieve some of the traffic on US 36.

Will the Parkway benefit Interlocken? I hope so. Will the Parkway benefit Broomfield's Flatiron Crossing Mall? I hope so. Will the Parkway benefit other cities, such as Lafayette? I believe it will and I think Lafayette believes it will.

Is the Parkway being properly planned. I believe the answer is yes. This will be a true parkway that will not have strip development along the Parkway's cooridors.

Statements on this board - not yours - have slandered Interlocken, Broomfield and others by cheap shot assertions of some sinister relationship between the two such as Interlocken supported the city/county because Interlocken wanted the Parkway. This is pure, unadulterated slander. It represents the type of obtuse linkages that
Adrian runs off at the mouth with. In other words, it is a lie. Clearly, Interlocken and Broomfield are not the only entities supporting the Parkway.
Is CVELG going to say there is some sinister relationship among all of these entities? Or, all of these entities are unethical. It wouldn't surprise me.

The lady to whom I referred is a long-time Broomfield resident. She was not a member of CBLG. She is a very nice person as is her daughter. She also said that she felt she was accousted by CVELG's members as soon as she got out of her car. I told her if she felt strongly about what was said and what happended to report it to the Secretary of State. I can't verify what was said or what was done. I wasn't there. If she files a complaint with the Secretary of State, perhaps you will be able to communicate directly with her. If she doesn't, then you don't have anything to be concerned about.

Re: annexations and the Poundstone Amendment. I've talked to Bill and George about this. This is a complex subject. Adams County, Boulder County, and Jefferson County had expressed concerns that the initial draft of the constitutional amendment did not apply Poundstone to the city and county of Broomfield. The reason is that when a city annexes lands, those lands and tax bases are still a part of the involved county. When a city and county, such as Denver, annexes lands, those lands are detached from the county in which they were previously situated are become a part of the annexing city and county. These are the reasons Bill and George brought the draft amendment back to the Council. These were questions that legitimately needed to be discussed by the city council.

A geographical area for future Broomfield annexations was worked out with Adams, Boulder, Jefferson, and Weld counties and was included in re-drafts of the city/county amendment.

BBW, you have crossed the line

Now I know you are lying through those BBW teeth of yours!
These are out right lies.
Have you no shame?
This is proof once again, as to what
lengths that YOU and your "Broomfield citizens" will go to.
(again, we all know "who" the Broomfiled citizens are)
The truth dosen't seem to work for YOU so - lie your way through.
Just how do you sleep at night?
I hope YOU do not have children BBW.
Is this the kind of truth that you are teaching them?
You can attack CVELG for what we are doing and why, on this board, but I draw the line at this particular lie that you have fabricated. You are now attacking my (our) personal behaviors -
that you obviously know nothing about!

Accosting people as they get out of their cars???
#1 we have set certain guidelines and
insist on nothing but true professionalism when circulating.
#2 we are not petitioning IN parking lots.
#3 unless people show the least bit interest, we do not pursue it.

You discust me BBW, this is just a ploy on your part to make CVELG the bad guy.
YOU have nothing on CVELG,
we are and will continue to be an organization that prides itself on working with only the truth - the proof, and do it with dignity and respect -
for "the people".
The Secretary of State? please.......
I welcome YOUR Broomfield residents
complaint to the SS, this will only help
CVELG put another BRICK into our growing pile of lies and deception.
Keep it up BBW,
you only help CVELG when you pull this kind of B.S.
