The new painted lanes on 5th and 7th Ave
are very confusing. All my visitors (as well as my husband and myself) find them confusing. There are rarely bikers on these lanes and very few runners (we run and we never has a problem with the 'old' way). It's dangerous to be confused on the road! Why was this done? Does someone just not like cars? They are by far the main users of this road.

Lane markers (ugh)
I agree totally! Those lane markers were not well thought out. Then the streets are torn up to lay telecommunications wires. I do believe the City has heard a hue and cry from the neighborhood association, and will be re-examining the situation (especially given the fact that we're supposed to get some sort of round-about circle near the middle of 3rd and 5th to help slow down traffic). Dr. Marston, our association's president, and the head of the association's traffic committee would know.

Does someone just not like cars?
What kind of question is this? Do you really want cars speeding through our neighborhood? Do you not mind having cars racing through your street like it was I-17? Unfortunatly your opinion sounds like you worship your car more than the safety of people or preserving your own neighborhood. If you love your car so much, maybe you should move to Scottsdale.

If lanes confuse you....
These streets are supposed to be neighborhood side streets and not major thoroughfares. I travel on these streets daily and always see people riding their bikes and walking their dogs. I don't mean to sound sarchastic, but if the lanes of a road confuse you, perhaps you should not be operating an automobile as these lanes are clearly marked.
