Crime Reports for the Week of Sept. 20th

CRIME REPORT; 09-20-10

      Good morning!!!!  Here are a couple of examples of the calls from this weekend.   Officer Davis responded to a disturbance call in the 1700 block of Mimosa.  Officer Davis contacted the two victims who stated a known 24 year old male had pointed a handgun at them during an argument.  No injuries were reported.    A handgun was located and the suspect was arrested for Aggravated Assault.   Officer Hartness responded to a suspicious subject call at Wyndrock and Post Oak.  A citizen reported a 19 year old male who was looking into vehicles on the street.  The subject was found to have an outstanding Burglary of a Motor Vehicle warrant and was arrested.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-21-10

      Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of recent calls.   Officer Antilley responded to a forgery in progress call in the 1200 block of Grape.  Officer Antilley contacted a 42 year old male who was trying to pass a counterfeit payroll check at the location.  The subject was arrested for third degree felony Forgery.   Officer Tollison responded to a vehicle burglary call in the 2700 block of East Lake Road.  The victim stated an unknown suspect entered his vehicle and took a computer, a GPS, and various cash and credit cards.  A report was worked for Burglary of a Motor Vehicle.   Officer Valdez responded to a disturbance in progress call in the 800 block of Cedar.  Officer Valdez contacted a 23 year old male who was part of the disturbance.  The subject continued to yell at other people involved in the disturbance and was actively provoking a fight.  The subject was arrested for Disorderly Conduct.   You are the first and best line of defense against thieves.  Secure your property in the trunk, lock your doors, and take your keys with you.  These simple steps will save you a mountain of headaches later.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-22-10

    Good morning!!!!!  Here are a couple of examples from overnight incidents.   Officer Holmes contacted a subject in the 1000 block of Grape.  The 18 year old male gave a false name and date of birth.  The subject's true identity was located, in addition to two outstanding local warrants.  The subject was arrested for the warrants and for Failure To Identify.   Officer Scott contacted a 17 year old male in the 1000 block of Grape as well.  The subject had outstanding warrants for Burglary of a Habitation, Attempted Burglary of a Building, and for Evading Arrest and was arrested for all three warrants.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.

CRIME REPORT; 09-23-10

    Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of the incidents for the last twenty four hours.   Officer Ruiz responded to a check welfare call in the 4200 block of Buffalo Gap.  Officer Ruiz contacted a 39 year old male who was very intoxicated.  The subject was trying to get into a vehicle and drive away.  He was an obvious danger to himself and was arrested for Public Intoxication.   Officer Easley attempted to stop a motorcycle  in the 1300 block of South Willis.  The motorcycle driver looked back at Officer Easley's flashing lights, then sped off and refused to stop.  The subject abandoned the motorcycle in the middle of the 3200 block of College and was found hiding near the side of a residence.  The 19 year old male was arrested for Fleeing To Elude, Driving Under the Influence, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, and No Motorcycle License Endorsement.   We would like to invite you to come to the groundbreaking of the new police education building at Safety City this morning at 11:00 A.M.  This accomplishment has been made possible by the support of organizations, businesses, and people like you.  Thank you for all of your support in this project.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
