Crime Reports for the Week of Sept. 20th

CRIME REPORT; 09-24-10

    Good morning!!!!!  Here are a few examples of the calls for the last twenty four hours.   Officer Garcia stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of Clinton.  The driver, a 20 year old male, initially gave a wrong name.  The subject's true identity was located, as was an outstanding arrest warrant for Burglary of a Habitation.  The subject was arrested for the warrant, for resisting arrest, for driving while license suspended, and for no insurance.   Officer Garrett responded to an armed subject call in the 700 block of Cockerell.  Officer Garrett contacted a 30 year old male who fit the armed suspect's description.  The subject did not have a gun, but he did have two outstanding burglary and theft warrants and was arrested.   Officer Sumrall stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Beech.  The driver, a 22 year old male, was intoxicated and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.  He provided a breath sample that was more than double the legal limit.  This incident is the 487th DWI in Abilene since January 1st.   For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt Keith Shackleford.
