CRIME REPORT; 01-07-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here is your Police Report for January 7, 2011…

 

On January 5, 2011 at approximately 7:20 P.M. the Abilene Police Departments Special Operations Division executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Cockerell.  A 21 year old male tried to flee from the residence and was detained.  Inside the residence agents located Cocaine.  The subject was arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance in a Drug Free Zone.

 

At about 9:15 P.M. last night, Officer Davis stopped a vehicle in the 1700 block of Briarwood for failing to signal a turn.  After contacting the driver, a 45 year old male, a K-9 was called to assist.  The K-9 alerted on the vehicle and a search revealed a useable amount of marijuana.  The male subject was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally, at about 11:10 P.M. last night, Officer Martinez stopped a vehicle in the 2300 block of Pine for an expired registration.  Upon contacting the driver, a 43 year old male, Officer Martinez observed a rifle in plain sight.  The driver and vehicle were then patted down for the officer’s safety.  During this pat down a handgun was also located in the vehicle.  A K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  During this investigation the driver was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.  He was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

CRIME REPORT; 01-10-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 9:53 P.M. last night, Officer Merrick was dispatched to an accident in the 7900 block of White Blvd.  Upon arrival, he contacted a 34 year old female who had driven her vehicle into a parked car.  This driver appeared to be intoxicated and was given the field sobriety tests; however, she was too intoxicated to complete them.  She did provide a breath sample that was over the legal limit.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

 

At about 11:51 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of North Mockingbird for reckless driving.  Upon contacting the driver, a 27 year old female, Officer Bryan could smell the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage.  The female had slurred speech and was uncooperative.  She stated she was drunk and for the officer to take her to jail.  She was granted this request and was taken to jail for Driving While Intoxicated. 

 

Finally at about 11:55 P.M. last night, Officer Poyner stopped a vehicle in the 1200 block of Fannin for failing to stop at a designated stopping point.  A K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  The driver, a 25 year old female, was found to be in possession of a illegal narcotics.  She was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Marijuana.

CRIME REPORT; 01-11-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for January 11, 2011…

 

At about 4:45 P.M. on January 8th, Sgt. Lassetter contacted an 18 year old female at a local shopping center for shoplifting.  During the investigation of this shoplifting it was found that this female had previously been warned of criminal trespass at this location.  It was also found that she was in possession of prescription medication that she did not have a prescription for.  She was placed under arrest for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Trespass.  The victims of the shoplifting did not wish to press charges.

 

At about 11:00 P.M. last night, Officer Hall stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of S. San Jose for not having a license plate light.  After contacting the driver, an 18 year old male, K-9 was called to the scene.  The K-9 did alert on the vehicle and further investigation revealed that the driver was in possession of a useable amount of marijuana.  He was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana, No Driver’s License, Expired Inspection and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.

 

Finally at about 12:50 A.M. this morning, Officer Villarreal responded to a possible location of a wanted subject in the 4300 block of S. 6th.  Officer Villarreal located a 46 year old female who did have a warrant for her arrest.  The warrant was for Possession of Marijuana.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

Crime Report; 1/12/2011

 

 Good Morning! Here is your police report for Wednesday 1/12/2011…

 

At about 11:25 am yesterday morning, Officer Janusz was dispatched to a disturbance call in the 800 block of Sycamore St. Officer Janusz contacted the reporting party who alleged that a man that had previously warned to warned to stay away from this property had actually entered the residence. A 43 year old man was contacted there and he was arrested for Criminal Trespass.  

 

At about 2:45pm, Officer Odom responded to a disturbance call in the 5300 block of N 9th. There he contacted a 20 year old male and investigation revealed that this man had several misdemeanor warrants with fines and fees totaling $1,150.00. The man was arrested on these warrants and booked into to Taylor County Jail.

 

Finally, at about 6:34pm, Officer Becker was dispatched to a Burglary of a Habitation call in the 1500 block of Merchant St. The victim reported that sometime during the day someone entered his home and took an electronic game console and assorted games, as well as a rifle. It is believed that entry was gained via a door was inadvertently left unlocked. A report was taken for Burglary of a Habitation.
