CRIME REPORT; 01-28-11

 

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 7:20 P.M. last night, Officer Ward responded to a call of a possible drunk driver in the 3300 block of South 14th.  Witnesses had observed a 76 year old male driving a vehicle and the vehicle had hit a curb almost causing an accident.  The driver was found to be extremely intoxicated and could not even stand to complete the field sobriety tests.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.  A search of his vehicle revealed an open container of an alcoholic beverage.

 

At about 8:35 P.M. last night, Officer Dixon stopped a vehicle in the 1300 block of Butternut for failing to signal a lane change.  After contacting the driver, a 36 year old male, it was found that he appeared to be intoxicated.  The driver did perform the field sobriety tests and failed.  He also provided a breath sample that was over the legal limit.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

 

Finally at about 11:30 P.M. last night, Officer Romero contacted a suspicious subject in the 1400 block of Briarwood.  While approaching this subject, a 24 year old male, Officer Romero observed him toss something down.  After further investigation it was found that the subject had tossed down a plastic bag containing cocaine.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

CRIME REPORT; 01-31-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 10:30 A.M. yesterday morning, Officer Carroll responded to a call of a wanted subject in the 1500 block of Portland.  Upon arrival, he located a 37 year old male who did have outstanding traffic warrants for his arrest.  He was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 6:05 P.M. last night, Officer Herd responded to a shoplifter call at an establishment in the 4300 block of Southwest Drive.  A 30 year old female was being detained for concealing approximately $200.00 worth of merchandise.  She was placed under arrest for this theft.  During a search of her purse, it was also found that she was in possession of prescription medication and did not have a prescription for it.  She was charged with Theft and Possession of a Dangerous Drug.

 

Finally at about 10:50 P.M. last night, Officer Valdez observed a vehicle almost strike another vehicle in the intersection of North 12th and Grape.  Officer Valdez tried to stop this vehicle and the driver, an 18 year old male, refused to stop.  A chase ensued and the reckless driver eventually wrecked out.  He then tried to flee on foot, but was caught.  He was arrested and charged with Felony Evading in a Vehicle.
