CRIME REPORT; 04-20-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

At about 1:55 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Janusz responded to a call of an injured subject at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival it was learned that a 28 year old female had taken a can of aerosol cleaning spray to the restroom and began inhaling the spray.  She was treated by medical personnel and was cleared.  She was then arrested and charged with Possession of a Volatile Chemical or Inhalant.

 

At about 3:30 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Brannon responded to a call of a suspicious subject in the 1800 block of South 3rd.  A neighbor called and reported a male subject near their neighbor’s house.  Upon arrival Officer Brannon contacted a 52 year old male.  The male subject refused to give his date of birth and address.  He was arrested and charged with Fail to ID.

 

Finally at about 8:50 P.M. last night, Officer Poynor responded to a possible location of a wanted subject.  Upon arrival, a 39 year old female answered the door.  She was asked if the wanted subject was at the residence and she stated he was not.  Officers continued to question her and shined a flashlight into the living room.  A male subject was observed on the couch and he matched the description of the wanted subject.  He was identified as the wanted subject and was arrested.  The female was also arrested and charged with Hindering Arrest as she lied about the wanted subject being in the house.

CRIME REPORT; 04-21-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

At about 6:40 P.M. last night, Officer Cutbirth responded to a shoplifting call at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival it was learned that loss prevention personnel had a 18 year old male detained.  It was found that he had taken approximately $90.00 worth of merchandise and had not paid for it.  He was arrested and charged with Theft.

 

At about 11:30 P.M. last night, Officer Villarreal contacted a suspicious subject in the 800 block of Palm.  While speaking with this 30 year old male, he gave consent to search his person.  During this search he was found to be in possession of a useable amount of marijuana.  He was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

 

Finally at about 12:27 A.M. this morning, Officer Davis stopped a vehicle in the 1000 block of Mockingbird.  Upon contacting the driver, a 58 year old male, it was found that he was intoxicated.  He did perform the field sobriety tests and failed.  The driver also provided a breath sample that was over the legal limit.  He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated.

CRIME REPORT; 04-22-11

 

 

 ****** This morning, we tried something new.  Due to a growing need of the Abilene Police Departments Public Information Officer to be here later in the day, we adjusted the work schedule today as a practice run.  I would like some feedback on who this would effect if we changed this to become the normal schedule and the police report would come out at this time everyday instead of around 7 A.M.  Please let me know your thoughts and if this will affect you in a negative way (craig.jordan@abilenetx.com), as we work on being available to everyone.  Thanks!!!   Here is your police report:

At about 3:10 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Antilley responded to a disturbance call in the 5600 block of South 1st.  Upon arrival he contacted a 24 year old male who was in a motel room alone.  The male subject had a warrant for his arrest and was placed under arrest.  During a search incidental to the arrest, he was found to be in possession of cocaine, and several prescription pills that he did not have a prescription for.  He was arrested and charged with the warrant and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

At about 7:30 P.M. last night, Officer Collins responded to a call of a disturbance in the 500 block of E.N. 7th.  Upon arrival a 20 year old female was walking away from the scene.  She was contacted and gave a false name and date of birth.  Her real name was learned and it was found that she had a warrant for her arrest.  She was arrested and charged with the warrant and Fail to ID.

 

Finally at about 8:30 P.M. last night, Officer Cutbirth responded to a call of a shoplifter at a south side establishment.  The subject had left the scene and a description of her vehicle was given.  Officer Peavy located the vehicle and stopped the subject in the 5200 block of Hartford.  A 21 year old female was found to be in possession of approximately $170.00 in stolen property.  She was detained and identified by loss prevention personnel as the subject they saw taking the items.  She was arrested and charged with Theft.

CRIME REPORT; 04-26-11

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24hrs…

 

At about 7:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Shriver stopped a vehicle in the 5300 block of Questa for a traffic violation.  A K-9 was called to assist and when the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle for the K-9 to conduct a free air sniff the passenger, a 25 year old male, stepped out and threw a bag of marijuana on the ground.  This was observed by the officers and he was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana.

 

At about 11:46 P.M. last night, Officer Merrick stopped a vehicle in the 900 block of Minter for failing to signal a turn.  Upon contacting the driver, a 24 year old male, it was found that he did not have a driver’s license and his ID card was suspended.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

 

Finally at about 12:45 A.M. this morning, Officer Hutchinson responded to a disturbance call in the 2400 block of Mimosa.  Upon arrival it was learned that a 37 year old male was intoxicated and had been verbally arguing with his wife.  This subject was not at the residence upon police arrival, however, just as the officers started to leave he walked back up.  He became aggressive toward the officers and the female and was clearly intoxicated.  He was a danger to himself and others and was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication.
