Woodlake

I think we need to take more action as neighbors.....

Posted in: Woodlake

I myself haven't logged on in a while... but I was thinking what a cool tool this website could be if ALLLL neighbors knew about it and got involved at least monthly for discussions and neighborly "fellowship"...  I have yet to been to a WNA meeting but my husband and I plan on attending one soon since we are recent home buyers in Woodlake. I would like to say HI to everyone and see if any of you are still jumping on here?! maybe we can spread the word and get more neighbors online to talk about safety in our neighborhood and friendly advice on gardening, home improvements and such.

Certainly wouldn't hurt to start rallying a game plan to reduce the crime in our neighborhood as I have noticed a spike lately.  I have deep and devoted love for this neighborhood, having lived here as a renter for 6 years here before buying....  I get so irritated by the petty crime that my husband and I have fallen victim to in the past... but it hasn't made us want to move - it makes us want to get tougher and defend our adorable neighborhood and our neighbors. We purchased ADT and since our neighbor had her Christmas decorations stolen not one night but 2 NIGHTS this holiday - we are currently planning on installing a hidden video camera system in hopes to record any suspicious activity.

I have no problem investing money into safety - there are so many children in Woodlake and elderly people as well! It's time to get serious about making Woodlake an even better place to live for us all and protect our investments!!!  Anyways, if you have any thoughts or know of any way my husband or I can help, feel free to email me -   shareedaste@yahoo.com    Otherwise, look forward to meeting you all soon at a WNA meeting... of the few neighbors we have had the pleasure of getting to know it seems we have a lot of wonderful people living around us and we hope to meet more of you! =D

PS- has the possibility of funding security patrol in our neighborhood ever been brought up? or making Woodlake a gated community?!  my husband and I were talking about it, there are soooo many people in Woodlake and it doesn't seem it would cost much to chip in a little every month to pay for a patrol service to try and catch crime at least a few nights per week?!   I think there would be a lot of willing neighbors!?
