The solution is...
Declare all the current tags obsolete. Distribute NO free tags. Sell the new tags for $10.00 each. Then everyone can have a raise.

That's an Interesting Solution
But probably illegal as we pay about a 2.4 mills separate tax for refuse removal, so we are entitled to that first tag. If they eliminate providing all the tags and provide no minimum level of basic trash removal service, they would have to eliminate the millage for trash removal and we could all hire private waste haulers or just pile up the trash in our garages or basements. Maybe we could even start private landfills in each of our backyards. $10 a tag is a bit high, but it does make a point that there is only so much money to go around in our tight city budget and I think our city employees deserve a raise more than the general fund subsidizing the basic level of trash removal.
A citizen suggested to me that maybe those extra tags could be used to help pay for individual curside recyling subscriptions. That might be a great idea for those Northend residents who now have a longer way to go to get to the new recycling center. It is in the best interst of the city to get as much recycling as possible as this decreases the city's tipping fees at the Riverview landfill.

Pre pkgd meals are now used!!! Good, makes more sense.
You seem like a hardworking officer and good luck to you in the position.
The whole candidate thing got out of hand but it seems inappropriate to be lobbying for any job especially from the wpd to city council just wait until you get closer to retirement...but he choose not too!
To hire a ''hatchet man'' to go after people seems inappropriate to me as well. Shows very poor judgement, no leadership and a total lack of suitability for the postion, any position. Would he go after a neighbor who called him on his tactics about a city issue if elected? .
''His Retirement''...the sooner the better.
PS your new ediface is too much money you don't need that type of facility in Wyand. This is not Farmigton Hills or Livonia

tags???
now come on tell me your joking. i hope they get what ever they ask for, but these stupid trash tags are not the answer. if one believes that less free tags will be the answer then this city is really doomed. i guess no one has really noticed the failing tax base with the cencus falling and business leaving as fast as you can count them. anyone ever take the time to take a drive around the city and see all the for sale signs or empty business with for lease signs in there windows. i,m sorry but plus or minus 1 stupid trash tag is not the answer. maybe the city should be more business friendly and stop trying to either prevent or run those we have out of town to increase our tax base. after all the spicket from the state $$ we get is almost dry dittos
