I have been hearing on the news that city is asking for Milwaukee residence who have a sewer grates in front of their homes and in the alleys to clear the snow mounds off of them so they are visable. The city will be going around and cleaning them out to prevent any flooding in the streets with the upcoming rain.

Beware Rd. Flooding at stadium


Another FYI:
For those of you who short cut through the Miller Park Parking lots via harnishfeiger rd. (44th Street) going south, be aware last night the intersection where you enter the lot from the north was completely flooded, and the water was at least 5 feet high! We were lucky to get through without stalling our car or having it be damaged.
It's probably down today, but keep in mind if we get alot of rain again.

Flood road

My husband and I drove down this road around 5 pm last night. The road did have some troubled spots with some deep and wide puddles. Luckily we had a truck, I don't know if a car would have made it through without getting the engine flooded by the water.

when it warms up

We probably cannot afford to wair for the city to clean off the grates. When it was raining I took a pole and shoved it down the grate on the n/w corner of 41st. It took about 10 minutes to clean off the top of the grate and shove the pole through the buildup. When it gets warmer it would probably be best if people could take a look at the grates near their homes and maybe take matters into their own hands. The water had built up on 41st, on the n/w side to the 420 house. It doesn't take much, a few minutes of a downpour and there you have it- an instant lake.
