Lucky???

I guess I missed the part in your post where Circle C is lucky to have UT basically using our pool for free.

SELL the Pool, now !

We can't afford that pool.

The Swim team is a cover up - it's a way to make the pool look useful.

The pool is USELESS and CCHOA can't afford the pool.

CCHOA and the members did NOT design the pool. The did not build the pool for the residents.

The Pool was SURPLUSED by Gary Bradley when he couldn't afford it any longer.

We have done nothing but dump good money after bad money into that pool. It's a loser.

It has to go, get sold, or we need a different business plan, but CCHOA can't afford to keep spending $300,000 a year for a pool that nobody uses.

Worse, that pool costs us in other ways - it's keeping CCHOA from building the amenities that a neighborhood this size should already have. Most apartment complexes right next to us have more amenities and more suitable pools than CCHOA.

What we have is a very expensive hole in the ground surounded by ugly telephone poles, drapped with a web of ropes and baskets, and topped with glaring stadium lighting.

The pool is the perfect example of how the cart got ahead of the horse in CCHOA.

This pool is like a millstone around our necks. If UT like that pool then let the richest public university in Texas just BUY IT.
Better think again

''''My family has used the pool more than most of you, each of us swim over 3000 yards a day, 6 days a week. My family is fine athletic shape while most of Circle C is simply fat and out of shape, I also spend a great deal of time volunteering my services at the pool, both in maintenance and cleaning up after you homeowners and your kids.''''

Aren't we being a bit arrogant here? Your problem is that you've forgotten the pool belongs to ALL of us, not just the privileged few who support or belong to the for-profit swim team. Hey, some people are fit and in shape from jogging, but you don't see them confiscating Escarpment or other roads and limiting the rest of us from using those facilities, do you?

''''Prior to Randy's arrival, the attendance at the pool was insignificant.''''

What planet did you come from?? Prior to Reese, it was virtually impossible to even get seats near the pool because of so many families and kids swimming. Now, my friend, attendance has slipped because of the pain in the ass visiting the pool has become.

''''The homeowner that complained about having to swim with several other adults doesn't realize how fortunate he was to have swam ''as our guest''. ''''

Your words speak volumes here. This is precisely why many residents feel shut out of their own pool. Since when are residents ''guests'' of their own pool. It is the swim team who is our guest, not vice versa my friend. Remember that. And also remember their contract has a 90 day termination clause. Keep ticking off the residents, and the guests will be asked to leave.

I also understand that starting this May, residents no longer will have the right to use their pool for morning swims because the swim team will have exclusive right to our pool.

''''Find another problem people''''''
I think you've got a big problem that still needs to be addressed. If the swim team doesn't learn how to take a back seat to the residents, then they will be kicked out of the car.

Residents first -- ALL of them -- and not just the privileged few when it comes to the pool.

upside down neighborhood

Russ,

I share your frustration.

We have 0 playscapes for 3,000 homes after 16 years of many millions of dollars spent. What is wrong with this upside down neighborhood?

The CCHOA just approved a $700+ lock on the door of 5919 LaCrosse (our property) to keep the residents from bothering Denise Nordstrom and Susan Hoover.

The residents are paying money to limit our access to our services? HELLO?

That $700+ could be used to go toward a damn swingset for the thousands of kids here in Circle C.

The swim team needs to go.
