Landscape problems

Natural Gardening

Susan Hoover was not the one who decided what was to be planted when Circle C first came about. In fact, she is the one that has decided to start using the native plants that are being used right now. I think she is doing a great job with all of the landscaping considering what she has to work with at the moment. Water being turned off, etc.

The landscaping is not being watered during the day...if you see the sprinklers on during the day then someone has changed the operation and Susan has asked to be informed about this. She has also asked to be informed if you see any sprinklers that need to be fixed, ie. watering the street, etc. If you look at the real Circle C internet site, she(Susan) has a landscape section on it that describes these things.

Yes, the landscaping was very pretty years ago. The plants were not native however and as they grew older, they were not thriving as they were when they were babies...so now...just recently, when Susan took over the business, Circle C is trying to use more native plants in our landscape. Roses are actually native to Central Texas...however Susan is not the one that planted or asked for those to be planted.

As far as the hummingbird dying...I guess you realize now that instead of taking it to the hospital you really should have taken it to a flower or given it sugar water immediately! There are lots of flowers...native ones...around Circle C and they are being planted all the time.

Circle C Landscaping is trying to use natural ways to eliminate weeds, and to fertilize naturally as well. However the people complaining on this site are the ones that were complaining about the workers being on their hands and knees pulling up weeds. They laughed about this at one of their meetings they had. They said it was ridiculous to be paying people to spend their time pulling weeds...Why don't they use weed killers to do it? I could not believe they were laughing about this. That is the most effective way to weed clean and the best for our ecology...now they complain about other things.

Look around and see the improvements that are being made every day! Give it a chance. It really is looking better and better since Susan took over. Yes, it did look really green and lush way back when, but we were using too many artificial ways of keeping it that way...now we are helping nature...give it a rest guys!

Long time homeowner?

Long time homeowner? Hhmmm

Why wouldn't this Long time homeowner post a name? Hhmmmm

Could it be this person that seems to have so many answers is Denise? Denise, please don't peddle your propaganda here, you don't live here in Circle C, you work for us (well...you do get paid with our money).

I don't know about everyone else, but I see sprinklers running during the day, IN THE STREET, (Slaughter or/and LaCrosse) about twice a week.
To LONGTIME Homeowner

Thank you for your thoughts.

Considering that I publish birding guides for a living & also helped with being a rescuer for wildlife, especially birds I THINK I kinda know what I am doing. When a hummer has it's wings spread on the ground, it CANNOT fly to a hummingbird feeder or any nectar plants which I have numerous one. I hope this also educates you in case you?’re ever in my situation.

Regarding pulling weeds by hand I agree, it is the best way although sometimes it is necessary to use weed killer. You DONT HAVE TO USE ROUND UP. The Natural Gardner has weed killer that are more natural that DON'T EFFECT OUR GROUND WATER.

Um, I asked a question - specifically ''do you have an example of a local sub-division that utilizes more native plants?''

I understand a lot of individuals ''go native'' but am unaware of any sub-divisions that practice this. Don't read ''unaware'' as ''don't believe it exists''.
