As far as laws against solicitors, there are none.  Why answer the door to a stranger in the first place?  If they don't leave, tell them to.  If they don't, call the police. They are trespassing.  Why is this so hard?

If you observe suspicious activity, such as someone looking in your windows or casing other homes on your street, call the police while they are in the neighborhood and they will check them out.

I'm glad to see a solicitor's point of view here. But, you and you kind do not give a damn about other people's rules. Communities with 'No Solicitor' signage is plainly in the open but, you people just ignore it like it doesn't pertain to you. Yes, you can state to me all the laws and the lingo in them and you can tell me that it don't pertain to you, but, it's common sense and it's all but lost in America now. It's a damn shame too. We have to put up with your kind that disrespect those of us who abide by consideration and respect for others. I will continue to give you the disrespect when you knock on my door as I open it and give you a loud tongue lashing and then slam the door in your face. I'll make your day!
