You have got to be kidding!!!
I want to see the town budget that has grown 14 million in 9 years all because of the teachers. What about the cops overtime, and the fire department overtime so they can sleep in between their real jobs (plumber, carpenter, handyman, etc).
Teachers do not get overtime pay. What part of that sentence do you not understand. Many of the responses to these questions and complaints talk about the $500 a teacher will get for working for 30 years. Yippee!!! what a gift. Divide that by 52 and what do you get? No even a cup of coffee? How come the people of this CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP
town do not understand that the employees of this town do not get a discount at Shaws, Stop and Shop or anywhere else because we work here. You want, want, want but you don't want to pay for it!!!! The people of this town are the tightest people with a buck that I have ever seen. Why don't you people remember that we spent more money on litigation to get rid of Bill Sweeney that the teacher's contract will cost this year. How come the people who are retired don't want to give cost of living increases to people who STILL work? But they would more than love to grab a COLA for themselves for doing
NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING!!!!!! I work for the school department, and you know what the 1% will give me this year? $.12, that's correct. by the time the state and federal gov't get through with it, I won't be able to buy a small coffee at DD. So stop complaining about the teachers in this town. They give your children the best education in the South Shore for the Least amount of money on the South Shore. And by the way, maybe you should look at the school buildings themselves. They are a mess and this tight town won't increase anything to fix them. The roof of many of the leak, the rooms are cold and hot alternatly. You want to talk about the schools, take a tour first then you can talk about the school. If not, just shut up.

See, this is the Problem...
I agree that while the running of this town could use some improvement, there is no need to insult people who work for the town. If you have a personal issue with a particular employee, fine. But making blanket statements about a group of people's intelligence based on where they work only exemplifies your own ignorance.
I don't agree with Town Employee's demands, but I can see where he is coming from. When I go to work every day, I am rewarded based on my successes. If a town employee were to do something a little extra for the town, what does he get? A bunch of thankless people screaming about how he doesn't deserve a raise, makes too much already, etc. So, if I were a town employee, why would I want to try harder?

varied results.it is important to remember that this site is sort of like
going to a tavern and hoisting a few ales to forget your woes and share tall
tales.when were done blowin' off some steam the bleary eyed realization sinks
in that eventually we must all head in the direction of the homestead to deal with the issues at hand.our problems are obstacles to be overcome and they tax us.as soon as one is cast aside, another more difficult task has taken its place.the fabric of life.you must fortify yourselves for this undertaking everyday and are better people because of it.hang in there
thankless folk.oh and by the way,if you need a remedy for that night of revelry,we have many products to put you back on track.just remember that it would be a crime to rely on store bought generic home remedy to cure what ails you.come see us.you know the brand stands for quality.
