I don't want to encourage anyone to go out but I had to drive across Braintree a few minutes ago and the crews have done a great job.
I am sure there will be complaints but all the roads I saw were clear.
Thank you DPW.

At 5:15 PM on Sunday.
I just wanted to make note of the time. Some streets are down to bare pavement. |

Not Today
You spoke too soon. I don't know which end of town you live on but it is 5:45 pm. It is now 5:45 pm on Sunday. I live on the corner of a main road. The plows have not been down my street and have managed to block the entrance to the cul de sac. No one can get in or out. As I am writing this, a car is trying to pass through. Lucky him. He just got stuck. I know for a fact that many side streets have been plowed more than once. Many private roads, unpaved, and not assessed are reaping the benefits of the DPW. Not me. Perhaps I should file for an abatement. I don't pay as much in taxes as some residents, but I know I pay more than most. Maybe I should file for an abatement. I have to admit the DPW is consistent. They haven't plowed my street in two years. Last year they let the snow pile so high on the road, they had to send a front end loader down a week later so people could get out of their driveways. Maybe they need someone out there checking the job the plows are doing before patting themselves on the back.If I didn't have one of those necessary jobs where everyone can stay home but I have to go to work it wouldn't be such a problem. I will cross my fingers and hope that tomorrow morning when I am leaving my house and heading for work at 5am I can get out of my driveway. Wish me well. |

You need to start your own
Snow plow company. That way you could bill the town as you cleared your own property! The town has done a credible job of plowing in my particular bailiwick, but the area in question is at one extreme end of town! The depth of will/has required in some cases heavy equipment but by enlarge four wheel drive pickups are doing the bulk of it. The town has over forty inches officially. Why do we always have to break records for pain in this town! By snow is as high as an elephants |
