If you attended the last HOA meeting, the community watch officer spoke of the "broken window" syndrome in neighborhoods. This syndrome happens if 1 house has a broken window that is not repaired, then a couple of weeks later another house on that street has something broken that goes unfixed, and so on and so forth... until you have a run-down neighborhood. Sort of like the weed problem we've experienced, where some owners felt that they didn't need to keep their yard up because the bank owned house isn't keeping theirs up. Now it seems that the "broken window" syndrome has taken on a new flavor of folks using their front yard as a parking lot. Frankly, I'm not sure what people are thinking, but it looks tacky. If they wanted to let weeds grow and park their vehicles in their yards, why buy a house? Why not buy a spot of land with a trailer in the desert vs. a home in a community with a HOA? Its very frustrating!
Other than reporting it to the HOA, what can be done? Is there any code that prohibits this?
Thanks~
