Castlegate Community

I see by the last two postings both of you must be very new to the community.  This coming Wednesday is our HOA Board meeting at Simonton at 7pm.  Hope to see you there.

Okay, the new estimated monthly billing for the new landscapers is $200 K for the year, right? What was it before? Please don't explain that all of the financials are posted on the castlegate home site or that I can go to Glendale or that our Oasis guru will call me back. He doesn't, I have no option to go to Glendale, and a limited amount of the financials are posted. I cannot figure what the annual payments were for Landmark because only a few are posted and their amounts are so far off, I can't even estimate it. For instance, the Jan 09 lists a balance sheet in both the balance sheet area and the income statement category. Feb 09 shows about $18k, March 09 shows the same as Jan 09, April shows $29k.... really, now do you understand why people assume that money has been pocketed, misspent, or not accounted for correctly? It is not reported to us correctly. Hence, the assumption.

I quit going to the meetings because they were a waste of my time to have EVERY question I asked (and others) be either referred to Brett or the famous "we are working on it" statement. No real answers. I had hoped with the new board that changes would help, but we will see. I will be at this next meeting and hope that I can at least get real answers to my questions. If not, I will wonder why we pay our fees for not receiving a real service.

BTW- our mailbox did have the special meeting notice- the day bfore the meeting it was posted and it was my son's b-day. I chose not to go. 

I know it can be very confusing looking at the spreadsheets. I do plan on doing a "where are we now" at the meeting. There will be time at the meeting for any questions from the homeowners.  I will answer them to the best of my knowledge and not pass the buck.

I have faith in you and your motivations, just am frustrated with the whole system and our mgmt company. I still get no call backs and find it difficult to pay our dues when services are decreasing. But, that is why I read this blog. I learn the reality of why the weeds have been let to go and how it saves us money as well as that it is temporary. This piece is refreshing. I just am confused when I try to figure the financials... not because I am confused by them, but that they are not reported accurately, nor do they make sense in previous numbers from month to month with fixed expenses that fluctuate. Fixed should not fluctuate, right? Yeah, that's correct. Not sure what they did or if they knew what they did. Hope to get some clarifications on Wed.
