CRIME REPORT; 12-03-10

Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

At about 8:10 P.M. last night, Officers Ward and Adkins were dispatched to an accident at Industrial and Maple.  The driver of one of the vehicles, a 38 year old female, appeared to be intoxicated.  She began to perform the field sobriety tests, but refused to finish them.  She did consent to a sample of her blood being taken.  An open container of alcohol was located in her vehicle.  She was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated with an open container and causing an accident.

At about 10:00 P.M. last night, Officer Brown observed a vehicle speeding.  The vehicle was traveling 83 mph in a 60 mph zone.  He stopped this vehicle in the 2000 block of North Danville.  After contacting the driver, a 32 year old male, it was found that he did not have a driver’s license and only had an ID.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

Finally at about 12:40 A.M. this morning, Officer Garrett stopped a vehicle in the 500 block of S. Judge Ely for a defective tail light.  As the vehicle was pulling over, Officer Garrett observed the driver throw something from the vehicle prior to coming to a stop.  After contacting the driver, a 25 year old male, Officer Garrett found the items that were thrown from the car.  The driver had thrown a useable amount of marijuana and a prescription bottle with pills from the vehicle.  It was found that the prescription was not for the driver of the vehicle.  He was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.

For the Abilene Police Department, this is Sgt. Craig Jordan.  Have a great day!
