How many people do you know had actually voted to have speed bumps installed in our community? I know of only one. All the rest hate them.
I STRONGLY opposed the speed bumps at the meeting many years ago. The board wanted them and easily voted them in. The intent was to curb the cut thru traffic from Monument and West Ox.
The funny part is that the first location they popped up was directly in front of the HOA Treasurer's house at 12439 CEDAR LAKES DR. Kinda funny that it is alleged that she also wanted parking passes implemented this year too. Self serving interests I suspect.
I could deal with the three speed bumps in front of her house since I could take the back way and not run over them. But this only opened the door to add more.
The board added more near the playground near Sutler Hill, the pool house on Erica Hill and on the curve on Thomas Brigade that happens to be behind the Treasurer's house. No cut thru traffic at these locations and almost no foot traffic. So why exactly was it done?
And then speed bumps appeared at the stop signs at each exit for the community before you hit the state roadway.
That makes eight speed bumps we paid for!
So it is good to live on the boundaries of the community where you get to avoid them. Everyone in the middle gets to suffer the jolts as we enter and leave the community daily.
