Neighborhood eyesores

Posted in: Big Bear Farms
I take a walk around the neighborhood almost every evening and I couldn't help but notice how some residents could care less how their house looks from the street. I have seen a dumpster box next to a house, a few homes with more than one TV dish in plain view from the street, one house on Waynebrown, their lawn is a disaster and they sometimes even hang laundry off their back deck. Plus, a number of houses have been leaving their garbage cans out in front of their house. Some homes, you will see toys scattered throughout the yard. I make my kids pick up every night. What is going on ? Don't people take pride with the appearance of their homes, anymore ?
Is it just laziness or they just don't care what their neighbors think ? You don't see this in Wedgewood, Kinsale, Wedgewood Park or any of the other subdivisions in Powell. Come on people, have some pride !
Bravo !

Amen to that ! I agree, it doesn't take much effort to make your house look decent. Walk out to the front of your house and take a good look at it and then ask yourself, how do others see MY house ?
Waste of time

You are wasting your time. Some folks are just plain LAZY ! They will have their car all clean and polished, but the most expensive thing they own, their home, they could care less how it looks. Let's face it, some people just don't care what others think.
Very True

I've been trying to sell my home now for over a year and I can't help but think that when prospective buyers come looking, they see the house across the street, with the dogs locked up in the garage, barking for what seems like hours, cars up on blocks, oil spills on the street, the yard looks like a hay field sometimes. Would you buy across the street from that ?
