Lawsuits?
On the topic of Lawsuits .... All I can say is "Bring it on, Baby". I'd love the opportunity to present detailed evidence in court substantiating my statements.

Hi WW. I do read this board from time to time and time permitting. I apologize for not seeing your post to me sooner.
How are you? What's all this stuff about lawsuits? I disagree with CVELG, but you have the right to do what you are doing. I wouldn't be too concerned about lawsuits. Someone would really have to castigate someone else before anything like that could happen. You are good people. It's okay to disagree.
I read you have been out circulating petitions. Oh no. I was wondering if you would like my city/county t-shirt. You could put it on the wall and throw darts at it. Or, you could put a "No" symbol on it and use it as a rallying point. Just joking. Take care.

Dang, BBW, it's good to hear from you. The board has been in a downward spiral ever since you left.
I think the lawsuit topic is just some silly thing we drifted off on ... I'm not sure anyone ACTUALLY threatened it, I just love to take something highly emotional (like that) and respond to it. It's probably not a good idea for me to do that.
We have started our petition drive. And I want you all to know, we are not insulting individuals or even the county concept in general. We are just saying we originally voted with out understanding the impacts and we want another oportunity to vote. If people ask for specifics, we each provide the topics we care about most.
I've been out twice getting signatures this last week. My personal opinion about petitions/signatures: There are physical limitations to how many signatures one circulator CAN gather (It's a function of the time it takes for a person to sign, time one person has free to gather signatures, etc).
We will not achieve our needed signatures if we don't have LOTS of circulators. So in the end - if we DO get the required signatures, it will only be because many people were VERY dedicated to gathering the signatures. We are providing the infrastructure - but only large numbers of supporters can make it happen. A few months into this we will know if we are on the right track or not.
That's what I DO like about this process - it couldn't result in getting the initiative on the ballot with out lots of folks really caring about it. Just 5 or 10 of us couldn't possibly gather the required signatures in the required time frame - it's physically impossible.
I promise, I wouldn't throw darts at your T-shirt (heehee). Hope to hear from you again.

This is REAL exciting. We assembled petitions last Friday afternoon and toasted that first step. And WE (of course) were the first signatures to go on each others' petitions.
Going out and gathering signatures is interesting. I've never done that before and now have an all new respect for those who do it. It takes about 10 signatures for me to get into the swing of things. And then I'm a machine.
Br Anon, I hope you will stop and sign with us somewhere soon. Even though we won't know it's you, you will know US by our enthusiasm!
