FENCE LINE

Posted in: Kriewald Place

And I forgot to mention, we DID get several quotes a few months ago that would replace the entire fence-line.  It was simply too much to replace at the time.  Once it became as a POSSIBLE in our budget, the new law went into effect.

While we have cut our annual expenses by over ten thousand dollars over the last couple of years, we are awaiting new quotes for several things before we can assess any newly available funds for improvements. The fence will cost almost 3x what we have managed to save... and that is assuming people pay their assessments.

Not to mention we are STILL trying to get the streets fixed AND the park that the front half were promised by OBRA when we had our homes built.  To facilitate this, I have a scheduled an appointment with State Rep. Jose Menendez's office this Thursday since our county commissioner seems to be ignoring the middle class these days.  Also Karen has contacted the county commissioner (and been brushed off) as well as Governor Perry's Office, and I have also contacted our US Senators.

My personal opinion is that we are neither rich enough to warrant their attention (campaign donors) nor are we poor enough to warrant attention (publicity)  This is a middle class area and we get forgotten.  Karen and I have been fighting for YEARS to get attention to our neighborhood's needs.  REAL NEEDS... not cosmetic ones (like a fence.)

Once again, sorry to be so brutal.

Well it seems that this is a problem of not getting home owners involved but I also know that some time we just need to hit the streets and knock on doors explain the importance of there presence. You have cop giving notice of people parking on the sidewalk and yet the model homes have a car everyday blocking the sidewalk. You want a press acne in the neighborhood throughout the year. I have only seen notice for meeting of cop safety. I know the park is on your agenda but be advise that with that will also come cost to maintain. I am sure your aware of this. I know it's not an easy task as for me as well when I was president of my assoc. but we choose to be there. I commend. You on your efforts but people feel like nothing is getting done. Maybe it's time the members walk the neighborhood. Talk to the people. Something has to change or were going to get worst.

I do not believe the problem is because our lack of information given. I personally have walked the streets door to door to talk to our members of meetings and events. I talk to them and tell them the importance of attending the meetings. From everyone that have given me the time to talk to me less then 1% might attend the meetings or go the events.

If only one to two people show up from each street that will be more than the current attendance and participation we currently have. We can not seat and blame and compare to other Associations, when we ourselves are not standing up and doing something. Not everyone can be satisfied, we will work the important items first and will address other items to accomplished after a complete analysis.

Our job is to remain a good community by eliminating all forms of waste and consentration on the actual issues. Please encourage your neighbors to participate and get engage and a positive difference will be seen.

Really,  I've been to every annual meeting since I bought my home here.  You'd be amazed at how few of your neighbors come to the meeting.

This year we have several big issues facing our community, just like we did last year and I wonder how many will come out to the meeting.

And the fence, is not the biggest issue we are dealing with.  I agree it is horrid however, it is not the number one problem.

I appreciate your frustration. I get frustrated when I see things here too however, being involved and present at meeting homeowners become aware of what issues we are dealing with that need resolution.
