Does anyone know

Does anyone know what happened with the haunted house that was going to open on Washington Street yesterday. I heard that the fire chief stopped them from opening after the fire department had already inspected the haunted house and told them they were fine to open. This happened yesterday right when they were going to open the doors. Apparently the fire chief had a problem with them using wooden pallets with plastic tarp coverings for a maze inside the haunted house. Seems odd, since Wal-Mart had some sort of haunted house today outside in their garden area with pallet walls covered with plastic, and a tarp cover. What seems even stranger is that the fire department had people at Wal-Mart at the same time, and they did not shut down Wal-Marts haunted house.

ill tell you

Ill tell you what happened. We spent alot of money and time on this haunted house for people to have something to do in this town FINALLY. We called all the right people before we started this thing, they told us what we needed to do, and we did it. We called the Muscatine Fire Department to inspect it, which they did, and we were good to go, it passed. Then, Friday night, 30 minutes before we were opening, another fireman came (who was associated with Jaycees by the way)and decided that it was unsafe. He called in another person, then he called the chief. He told us he was shutting us down because of the plastic walls, dark hallways, and dead ends. DUH!!!! Its a haunted house. I dont have anything against Jaycees and I am not going to make them suffer because of 1 fireman associated with them and a fire chief with a power trip!!
What The!!!!!

What do they think any haunted house that you go to is made of??So what about the other haunted house's are they still open or did they get shut down to?Well our Free Country is once again dictating what fun we can and can't have.So what holliday are they going to ruin next xmas because tree's can burst into flames?WOW hopefully the fire dept don't show up at my house on xmas and throw my tree in the street (FOR MY SAFETY OF COURSE).Is there any info on when or if the haunted house will be able to open.

yup

I know they think they are doing this stuff for safety, but come on.. They go way too far sometimes. It is a temporary structure, there for 3 weeks. We had all the fire extinguishers, flashlights, 2 way radios..... i dont know what more they wanted. Well, it was a haunted house, maybe they wanted blood. Next year we will make it out of concrete and cinder blocks, ow wait, someone could get a scratch.
