I am not blasting you only informing you that I spent almost five years in a foundry until I had enough senority to get a better job.
Demand will set the price as they always have, but you will then have a choice. Buy it or leave it until the price is what you can afford.
I have always lived with in my means, maybe more people should try it.

Handouts come in many different forms. From a president and politicians who refuse to control our borders, to employers who hire illegals, to lawmakers who make it illegal to stop or question people under the guise of ''racial profiling''.

We WERE a country built with immigrants, that is no longer the case! We are already built!

The areas you speak of where there are tons of room should tell you that they aren't exactly in big demand by natural born citizens nor immigrants. If they were highly desirable, there wouldn't be tons of room.

Between 1900-2000, the population of the U.S inreased 13.2%. The Hispanic population increased 57.9%, and the Asian population increased 40.8%.

U.S born births are roughly 13 births per thousand. Foreign born births are roughly 28 per thousand. As a result, the foreign-born have a disproportionate share of the births in the U.S. In 1996 the U.S. population increased by over two million people, 60.9% of that was immigrants! So just how large do you want this population to go?

Have you even considered future generations and how the population increase will impact their quality of life? How will it impact our natural resources? Take a look at countries like India and tell me you want that many people in the U.S.?

I rest my case.

I agree that we must learn to live within our means. Take a look at the national debt as a prime example.
My point is that much of what we now think of as within our price range-fresh produce, fresh meat, new houses etc-wont be if we suddenlly make all those evil illegal aliens disappear. How many toamtoes do you want to pick?
