unity

was under different staffing and owners in the 90's and they weren't as bad as they are now. I know that they were going to send me to the Mayo clinic because they couldn't diagnose my asthma. Good ole doc roudybush saved me!!!They have misdiagnosed brain cancer, breast cancer, leukemia, ear infections, hernia, bee stings,etc.etc..the list is endless.when are they going to step up and admit they are failing us? Props to the Dr.'s who left and went to the Medical center.
I was there

I went about 1 week ago. I was having problems with my ears and bladder infection. Both problems occured the same day. When I went to the doctor at unity I was told they would only see me for 1 problem and that I would have to have another appointment for the other problem. Isn't that a horrible thing to hear. BUT...luckily they gave me antibiotics that would help both problems. Can you believe that?? they will only see you for 1 problem and not multiple problems. Unity sucks. I had both my kids at Mercy in Iowa City. We go to Iowa City for dentists. Davenport when my daughter had knee surgery. Yea, I have seen that top 100 hospital commercial for Unity on TV. I would like to know where this information comes from and the documentation to prove it.
I LIKE Unity

I wonder how many people have very good results who don't bother to post? My father went to doctors in Davenport for years, only because we had moved from there and he was used to his doctor. Several years ago he was sent to Genesis for tests. Had to be there at 7am and couldn't eat. He was diabetic, but they said to take his meds, but not eat because they'd have him in and out very quickly.

He lay on a gurney in the hallway till 10am! Every time he said something to a passing nurse or aide, he was told, ''soon.'' Finally he said he was going to pass out, the aide called a nurse...the nurse told him they were having equipment problems and he had to go home and reschedule! This was just before noon.

After finally have the tests 6 weeks later, his doctor didn't know what was wrong and sent him to Iowa City. He spent 2 weeks there and came out in far worse condition. They sent him home practically unable to even walk or eat. I left him at home for the time it took to fill all his prescriptions, got back and he'd passed out on the floor.

I called 911, got him into Unity and the care and concern was outstanding! Not only was his problem diagnosed with 72 hours, but he met with social workers who arranged in-home care (he lived alone) for him and they followed up constantly.

I have gone there for years and have NEVER been treated with anything but the greatest care and kindness.

As for the ''top 100,'' Unity has gone through a very rigorous accreditation procedure that investigates absolutely every facet of their operation and if they don't pass, they aren't accredited. It's a national certification, so it's very obvious they're doing more than just a little bit right.

Feel free to disagree, but you know that old saying...if somebody is satisified with service, they rarely mention it. If one person is dissatisfied, they tell 10 people who then keep repeating it until it seems like absolutely everybody is dissatisfied.
