I am sorry
My hiking buddy learned that his son died in Iraq two hours before he himself died of AO disease. I read the relish of war and I know who has been there and who has not. Death is death and nothing more. There is no glory in war. Only death of those who do not deserve to die. We cherish the lives of those we know and wish death on those we know not. Those of you who have never been asked to decide life or death in the minute in which you exist should reconsider your support for war. It is not grand, It is not final. It is chosen by those who do not serve and thrust upon those who do. I would serve again if asked but... Out |

SALUTE!!
My father was involved with the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp and participated in the battle of Berlin. A brother of his was wounded on D-Day. A third cousin of mine was shot down and killed over Holland during WWII. Other uncles, siblings, and son have served in the military. Some during ''peace time'' and others in not so friendly of times.......Dad would have been 91 tomorrow.....oh, well. |
