I am sorry for your loss. How sad that is.
My brother joined the army right after high school, but was discharged while still in boot camp because of an injury to his knee. He still has problems with the knee, but that injury may well have saved his life, because he never had to face combat because of it. My father was in the Army between the Korean war and the Vietnam war. He served in Europe. Both his brothers were also in the Army, one of them dam near lost his leg to a piece of shrapnel trying to take a hill in Korea. My grandfather served in WWI. My husband's grandfather served in the Navy, and his other grandfather was in the Army during WWII. He was at Normandy and several other battles. He was an amazing guy. I'm praying to God that I will never add my son to this list.
Gratitude and respect to all those who have served in the Armed Forces, in peacetime or war.

my friend. It is times like this that can bring people together and I want you to know that I share your sorrow with the loss of your friend and hiking buddy whose son also died while serving in Iraq.

You must be fairly young, middle aged I would guess, and enjoy hiking, something I used to do alot before my knees gave out.

As far as war goes, I will never support that, only when our country is attacked directly and I would gladly fight to protect it. Times change and life goes on. What we need to do is elect individuals who truly represent us and hopefully things would be better.

Again, I grieve with you on your double loss. If you would walk slower I would gladly spend a day hiking with you. I have the capacity to overcome pain but it is no fun. Just let me know.

My brother was MIA

He was in Korea 1950-51. He was in Company L at Task Force Cromez. After two years MIA, hw was declared dead. For over fifty years, we've been trying to get some details. A body to bury would have been some comfort to our mother. Would your uncle know anything about TFK. There were 160 men in Co L, only 29 lived.
