That's a misconception on your part! It's not more expensive to shop downtown. If you're like most people, you've not even tried. True, if you are satisfied with the cheap, shoddy merchandise sold by the ''big box'' outlets, great, but you get what you pay for! I'll never forget the time my wife bought me a shirt that she thought looked good at Wal-Mart. That shirt came out of the dryer before having been worn once with three buttons missing! So much for price!

I agree
That was some great service and for that reason alone you should continue to shop them.
However, for the price I'll need to go elsewhere. Would you mind telling us what you paid for that service? What I'll tell you is that on my one visit there that the service was lacking. Two older gentlemen talking golf as I looked around. Neither ever approached me. I looked at a polo pull over that was only $80. However, looking is all I did. I had visited them because I wanted a suit and wanted it tailored. I knew the cost would be high, but was willing to spend some high $$$ since I'm a bigger guy. All I can tell you it had to be a heck of a golf game, because when I left they were still talking.
For the record, I don't by my cloths at wal-mart either. They seem to think the fatter people get, the shorter they get.

I'm curious as to how
A monopoly (this is/was the only mens clothing store in the city) goes out of business? The reason must be as obvious as the owner just not wanting to do it any longer. Otherwise, unless it was doing poorly, I'm sure that someone else would have bought the business and the name.

Why
Why, davieboy, does it matter what a family paid for tailoring service in a time of need. Weirdmart does not offer tailoring at the Muscatine store. K&D always has. And Denny is closing for health and family reasons.
