You had an awesome post! Good for you for speaking out! You represent our towns future! There are many towns facing this same situation!
You are young, yet you recognize what Muscatine wants & needs. Cherish your youth! You guys will be the people that can move mountains! You made a very brave decision to post.
You are not sure if you will stay in our town. There are many towns that are facing this very dilemma. Your parents want you to stay & prosper.
Muscatine USED to be able to state the FACT that, ''we were a stable economy, families stayed intact''. Family members that worked for the companies in our town, supported & employed the kids. Unfortunately, unless the children go thru temp services today, with no benefits, etc. it feels like a losing battle.
You are facing a dilemma that we didn't have to face 10 or 20 yrs. ago!
The citizens of our town want you to stay & contribute, because you are from here. You understand us, our town & have a unique perspective of what is needed. We need your input!
I understand how hard it is to find a job & prosper in our town. I feel for you! Do you have any ideas, or advice as to change it? Tell us all what is like @ your age! We can vote for local & national leaders. That is a given. With age, many of us have become ''jaded''. I would really like to hear your opinions on how we could make our town prosper?
I'm not trying to scare you off, hOO... you can choose to ignore this question. You already gave some of us something to think about w/ your original post. However, I'm guessing you have some ideas of your own? If so...share them. You are safe here. We will listen. Every single person here was ''almost 23'' once! :-)!
