I admire the stance you've taken about your individual right to keep and bear arms. What is lost in the translation is the fact as bobsdad eloquently pointed out an inalienable right pre-dates the Constitution. He is correct. Another inalienable right is to speak your piece of mind without being vilified for your opinion (no offense is intended bobsdad).

The question of the right to keep and bear arms is an argument that actually pre-dates the National Firearms Act of 1934. The purpose of that act is what foisted the Bureau of Alchol, Tobacco and Firearms upon our Nation. There are even those on both sides of the gun issue who assert the BATFE is nothing more than a governmental jackboot. The BATFE is an outdated government agency whose only purpose is to slowly strip away the rights of the citizens to keep and bear arms while maintaining a governmental police posture. Don't believe me? Look no further than Ruby Ridge, Waco and last year's gun show debacle where hundreds of legitimate gunowners rights were violated by the BATFE.

So you see Chosen while you have the inalienable right to choose whether to own a gun you're also faced with an outdated federal agency who, should you have a change of heart and decide to purchase a firearm, can literally deny you of that right even if you've never been criminally convicted or charged with a felony. These are the same people who will argue to Congress that your inalienable rights are a detriment to society thereby allowing your remaining Constitutional rights to erode away beneath you.

The choice is your Chosen. Choose wisely.
