I find it amazing

that everyone wants to tell me what to think and feel off of the words of someone else. It's a simple C&P.

My personal stance on the issue is I'm for the right to bare arms. I against stupid people having guns and if you kill the neighbor lady while shooting at a dog........You're stupid. True, maybe more people do die in car accidents each year, but not 1 person died by a car owner as he tried to run over a dog. Why? Because car drivers are tested............ Gun owners aren't even required to read. Hummmmmmm.

Peace

If you took any offense to the post I made against having a gun in my home, I apologize. My dad, brothers, cousins & nephews are all hunters. I know what their guns mean to them.
The night I shared in my post was a confirmation to me about why I would CHOOSE not to have a lethal weapon in my home. It wasn't meant to preach to others about the choices they make.
I have to admit, though, that if I helped a person stop & think about getting a gun ''for protection'', with no real skills @ handling it & accepting the very real consequences that could occur, I'd be happy. I'm telling you, I was so scared & afraid for my children that night, that if I would have had access to a gun, I MIGHT have used it. That sends shivers down my spine to this day. That is why I shared. My experience, My fear & My choice. I wouldn't dream of trying to cram my choice down anyone else's throat. Cross my heart & (hope to never have a gun in ''my own home). :-) I swear I wasn't trying to stand on a soapbox against guns. Good Lord, I'd be hiding from my whole doggone family for the rest of my life!, And never be able to eat my dad's pheasant rice dish, my brother's deer sausage, etc. LOL! I CHOOSE TO NOT have THAT happen either, (especially the deer sausage)! I really love that! I have even gotten over the ''fear'' of eating Bambi...a really BIG STEP FOR ME! :-)!

No offense taken..

I was not offended by your post at all. No problem. I understand your feelings on this.
I believe that it's wise to get trained in how to safely use a firearm. Many tragedies would be prevented.
If you would get some training, you wouldn't have to be afraid of guns.
Even so, I don't believe a law that requires training in order to possess a firearm would pass the constitutional test.
By the way, do you know the difference between ''education'' and ''training''?
Someone explained it to me like this:
If your teenage daughter comes home from school and tells you ''We had sex education today'', that's one thing.
If she comes home the next day and tells you ''We had sex training today'', you immediately know the difference between education and training.
Training implies practice to achieve a skill level.
