Adult enough indeed.

Thank you. You're always welcome to your opinion in my world.

There was a day when the life average of a human was 40yrs old. Doctors, researchers and many other unmentioned people have made advances in the medical field and today we look at the average life span of I believe 73 years. (don't quote me on that, it's close) Than we're face with the fact of medical treatment recieved, insured vs uninsured. Clearly, anyone one who has lived the experance can tell you that insured people recieve better treatment. That's from attitudes to actual care given. So, in the end we're left with really not so hard to understand facts. Who wants to tell a child they are not entitled to the best posiable health care because their parents can't afford insurance? Fact: This is what we tell kids every day. Bush just said it with a veto.

I think as a country, if we can spend 600 billion $$$ on killing people in war, maybe we can spare a couple of billion to cover the future of the children.

Peace, and Thank you again.

Insurance

I believe I know a little about health insurance because I have had it since 1958 and worked on denied claims as a union official for 25 years on a part time basis.
Someone said they had the best insurance in the world, but I have to inform them that they have second best.
My insurance has paid for birth control since I signed up in 1958 with the reason being it saved the insurance company money by not having to pay for deliveries and added expenses for the next 18 years.
Most insurance plans are considered family plans if there are 2 or more people insured so the cost is the same.
I had very few claims before December 2004.
I recently went through 16 weeks of Chemo at the charge of $2400 + weekly along with a blood test of $ 36.00 weekly plus a office visit of $ 130.00 weekly plus every 4 weeks a I.V. with a charge of $ 1700.00 +.
The insurance company settled this bill by paying around 52% with the Clinic because they were subscribers to my H.M.O. plan and this was payment in full except for the $ 10.00 payment I made for the office visit.
the I.V.s will continue for life and I only hope that you or any family member never get in this position with out good insurance.
Also this is not the end of it as it will go on untill they find a cure or my passing.
At least I do not have to be concerned about my wife trying to pay this after I am gone.
What is the right answer I do not know but very few people can afford to pay these kind of expenses at 100% of the cost if you do not have good insurance.

Except That...

Bush DID want to increase the child health insurance program by 4 billion dollars so as to cover kids who were ''slipping through the net''.
The dems, however, decided that they wanted to expand the program to include people who weren't poor and weren't children.
Fortunately, they were able to hoodwink a smaller number of people than was necessary to pull this off.

Kenn.

I don't know of anyone who is not fully aware of the importance of good health insurance, especially when it comes to catastrophic care. It does however have to be paid for. Even if your employer pays the premium for you, you are in fact paying it indirectly, sort of like the unseen half of the social security deduction.
Where I have a problem is when people hold the view that they should be entitled to it through the govt.
People who hold that opinion would never walk up and down the street asking their neighbors to pay their doctor or hospital bill, but that's exactly what they are doing when they expect the govt. pay it with our tax dollars. I wish you the best of health!
