Tom...remember Mrs. Griesenbrock at the Modern Dairy? Always wore her hair up in a bun and she drove a little sports car.

That must have been it, Ned. I just know it was a little two-seater. |

OK, so you guys remember Emma Nabor, don't you? I lived in the brown shake shingle house with a white 2 store (small) house between us and the dairy. We had the long row of bushes on either side of the house. The Nabors (owners of the Modern Dairy), lived at Randy's house on 8th Street. Ernie, drove the milk delivery truck for them (same house). I also remember as a boy, when I had route #23 (same area), of a grocery store on the alley of Cedar, between 6th & 7th. The Community National Bank was a 4 plex appartments bldg with below ground parking for the tenants. There was a hourse on the alley between 6th & 7th., where a little old lady lived with an oil stove, it couldn't have been more than a 3 room house. The Moving & Storage (2 story) bld. was right across the alley. You know, it's really funny, that if pressed, I could probably remember 80% of my customers' names from 50+ years agp., but, I have a hard time remembering folks' names from this era. Oh well! |
