NPRis running a article on the Hispanics of West Liberty, Iowa today; and its good, true and positive. It's a pleasure to see articles like this in writing. Its also very disappointing that local papers couldn't have been first with a story.
Perhaps we should go out and say it, the Muscatine Journal sucks. More interested in character destruction than news, more interested in anything negative than positive, and only wants to sell ads.
Let me state this also, West Liberty is by far the most positive and progressive community in Muscatine County and perhaps the State.
Wow, a real West Liberty fan, eh? Sounds like the perfect place for you to settle down.
As for the Journal, boy oh boy......I can sure see why you hate them so much. There was that article today on the L and M homecoming court. Certainly inflammatory. And that front page story on the improvements in the Muscatine Fire Department. Horribly negative, eh? And then there was Gil Dietz's "Where are they now" entry about Christopher Knott, and all of the success he's had as a law professor. Imagine that.....a guy who grew up and went to school right here. More negative reporting by Gil, eh? Little article about a local church giving away clothes. Terrible character destruction. Nicely written story in the sports section on the success of the golf team and their senior leaders. Yep.....they only want to sell ads. Also some good coverage of the local volleyball teams, and if you look closely, even bowling scores from Plamor Lanes. Really disappointing how they ignore local things.
I only suspected that the poster who calls himself Republican was a dope, but now we have confirmation.
