As to the stuff that Iowa sends to the Gulf, YOU are the one that insists that Iowa sends however much. I don't know who this 11 year old is, but if you explain it to her like you explained it here she is probably still walking around rolling her eyes.

I did have the advantage of being able to draw some maps and do a little math with her, but that's the only difference from what I've tried to do here.   I figure you guys should know what the map of Iowa and the Mississippi drainage area would look like.
