I don't know from whom this came, but down at our daughter's last week, a christmas card was posted on her fridge that showed a polar bear back stroking past a red and white twist pole with an eye catchy plaque that read,  welcome to the north pole. The sender wrote inside, Have a dry and frozen christmas! Of course this isn't any impacting comment to me, since our hogs were  acused of methane-ing the planet, but it sure was cute in spite of the obvious.

There used to be a balance.   CO2 produced by animals was absorbed by vegitation.   Digging up all that sequestered CO2 in coal and oil and destroying much of the forests (especially the rain forests) has badly distorted that balance to our detriment.

Your hogs were a miniscule part of the problem.

I'm pretty sure she meant "vegetation".  And probably "accused" and "minuscule".  But I'd listen to her.....a real whiz, that one.  Have you seen her thesis on the differentiation of Iowa nitrogen versus Minnesota nitrogen?  Fascinating stuff.
