My wife and I got notice this week from Mutual of Omaha that our suplemental to Medicare plan premiums are going to be increased 22% Jan. 1, 2012.

It's probable that premium costs would increase with or without Obamacare looming on the horizon; but the question is how much.

From what I read, the original promise of "lower medical costs" was a ridiculous and dishonest promise.  From what I gather, the general consensus is that Obamacare is aggrevating the cost problem, not reducing it.

This was predicted from the beginning, but a certain political party "rammed it" through, didn't they.

Obama and the Democrats are proposing a 3.25% tax surcharge on incomes over $1,000,000 to replace the loss.   We'll see if Republicans will go along with it.  I'm betting against it.

Is the 3.25% tax surcharge on incomes over one mil going to go directly into the Social Security payroll tax fund, or just into the general funds that the dems say whoopee, let's spend this too! If that surcharge isn't going into the payroll tax fund I am certain that Republicans will not approve.

I didn't find out if it went directly in the SS account but it makes no difference, R's vote no.

I notice unemployment dropped to 8.6% from 9.0%.

Did the R's look at that as good news and decide we need no more jobs and stimulus laws?

"Did the R's look at that as good news and decide we need no more jobs and stimulus laws?"

What do you mean by those words? In normal persons words I might understand, but with your reasoning, one never knows what you mean.

The Labor Force Participation Rate declined in November.  This is the percentage of the working age population in the labor force.

There are no more people working now than there were last month.

There are just a lot more who have quit looking for work and who have maxed out their welfare so they just don't register as unemployed anymore.

It's like saying this months crime rate is 8.6% rather than 9.0% because we quit counting some types of crimes knowing we'll never be able to prevent them.  It's a dumb way to show an "improvement", but the Obumbler is hoping enough dumbies won't realize what happened and think everything is better now.
