So, does Muscatine really need more movie theaters cluttering up the bypass with more traffic and all that brings? Are they closing the old theaters? What you all think?

Doomed to fail. There isn't enough interest in town, let alone surrounding communities to support a complex this size. The Quad-Cities or Iowa City? What would cause someone to drive 40 minutes to see a movie here that they can see there?
The bypass becomes less and less what it was originally supposed to be. It's become nothing more than just another street, albeit with a higher speed limit.
Mulberry Avenue between Houser and the bypass is in no way sufficient to provide safe traffic flow now. There is no shoulder and a steep drop off on both sides. This situation will only get worse. A pedestrian or two will be killed, and the road itself will be in worse shape than it is already in once construction vehicles start rolling over it.
Much as I'd like to see business in town, downsizing and moving the entrance and the complex itself to the Cedar Street side of the property makes more sense. |

Heck Yes, Muscatine needs the Theaters. Why? Tax revenue, place to go, entertainment, jobs, please get it Muscatine is a "soon to die town" if we don't get something to go positive. The bypass is doing what it was designed to do, move cars. Mulberry could be widened, if needed, but it sure is capable of taking more cars than are presently using it. |

I give it three years.
Tops.
Then it gets bought by a local church. |
