Tapper: Media Failing Country

3:16 PM, Aug 21, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER
In an interview with Laura Ingraham, White House reporter Jake Tapper said that the media is failing the country.

A lot of people are hurting out there. Unemployment is 8.3%. That doesn’t even take into account the underemployed,” he said.

"We  are spending a lot of time in the last few weeks, those of us in the  political world, political journalists and also politicians, talking  about things  other than the economy," said Tapper. "[A] lot of people are hurting out there. I’d like  to see more action taken and more emphasis given to this issue.”

"I have said before… [that I] thought the media helped tip the scales.  I didn’t think the coverage in 2008 was especially fair to either Hilary Clinton or John McCain," Tapper said. On the 2008 coverage, he noted, "Sometimes I saw with story  selection, magazine covers, photos picked, [the] campaign narrative,  that it wasn’t always the fairest coverage."

Ya really think so??????

Then we have folks like the poster republican who harp about subjects that are lies and do not touch on the REAL issues of why is the greatest country in the world borrowing 40cents out of every dollar spent? Why  aren't john and jane doe up in arms over that? Why are we granting rights to illegals? Why is our potus saying that persons who work 60 - 80 hours a week to build their business that they didn't build that themselves? I notice that SOME are now protesting that stupid statement. Why does the pos potus say that the private sector is "doing fine" and that we need more govt jobs? When the private sector is booming, more taxes are paid, less govt is needed and the current increase in food stamp use of 45% will shrink, as well as the over 8% unemployment. Let's worry about the REAL problems and not manufacture  lies.

He was saying they didn't build all the infrastructure, economic system, or all the other things that were available when the business was started that helped it succeed.   It had nothing to do with what they did to build their business.
If you'd post the full quote, it would be obvious.

We actually heard and read the full quote and we know exactly what the pos meant and what is in his heart.  It was clear that he was saying that only "the government" (meaning his idea of a centrally controlled overlord) could have made all the businesses and small businesses possible.

The commercial and industrial history of our country, dating back well into the 19th century, including all pioneer accomplishments and inventions, demonstrate how wrong he was.

By the way, some the 20th century infrastructure was built by the taxpayers, not by the politicians or any party.  The rest was built by private entities.
