Hahahaha! Good one Nigel.

Ah yes....the good old days.

I also experienced a flashback this morning while listening to the morning news.  And it involved yet another member of the crew that you mentioned.  Old timers here will remember that during the Muscatine tornado a few years back, brother Dave bragged here about his tornado chasing experiences.  Most of us at the time thought him to be foolish at best, but he insisted he was doing good for humanity.  The news story today was very critical of storm chasers, especially the amateur variety....like Dave...who do nothing but get in the way of emergency personnel and actually slowed traffic in the recent Oklahoma storms, becoming a danger not only to themselves, but to other innocents as well.   It appears that there will soon be legislation developed that will make such lunacy a criminal offense under certain circumstances.

I don't know of the stories you mention. Either I have not been here long enough or maybe I'm just failing to see the humor in deaths that took place in Oklahoma as a result of the tornados that ripped through that state. Whatever the case may be, the spotters that were killed were paid and well trained. They erred and paid a unfair cost. They are a needed element. It's not always simple, but to save more stations rely heavily on spotters.

You're so full of crap your teeth are brown.

It seems as if this TruePatriot fellow has the same limited comprehension skills as the aforementioned Dave.  Nigel made no mention of the storm "chasers" who were killed, and didn't find any humor in it that I could see.  He pointed out a news story that I also heard on WOC radio AM 1420 this morning, and as he said it described a variety of idiots who see themselves as storm "chasers", get in the way, hamper rescues and first responders.  The legislation is in the works, according to that story.  This will hopefully prevent non-professional self-described tornado and storm "chasers" from being their own worst enemies.  Kind of like the people who require warning labels on coffee cups at McDonalds.  Untrained "spotters" are not a "needed element".  They're dangerous.
