Don't let'm get to you.   When they make reference to the storm chasers in Oklahoma who are a danger to themselves, it's logical to conclude they are talking about the storm chasers in Oklahoma who were such a danger to themselves they got themselves killed.

He then proceeded to tell us that he took his wife with him on spotting missions.
