QUOTE: "Nigel made no mention of the storm "chasers" who were killed, and didn't find any humor in it that I could see".

One might want to question your eyesight as well as your comprehension. Nigel comedically compared a past poster with the recent tragedy where storm chasers were killed. No link was given so it's hard for me to confirm if his story is the same as the one you proclaimed it to be.

The story I am aware of makes no mention of any chasers being a hinderance to rescuers or first responders. In my understanding there are many cases in which storm chasers become the first responders and assist in saving many lives.

Ah yes....the good old days.

I also experienced a flashback this morning while listening to the morning news.  And it involved yet another member of the crew that you mentioned.  Old timers here will remember that during the Muscatine tornado a few years back, brother Dave bragged here about his tornado chasing experiences.  Most of us at the time thought him to be foolish at best, but he insisted he was doing good for humanity.  The news story today was very critical of storm chasers, especially the amateur variety....like Dave...who do nothing but get in the way of emergency personnel and actually slowed traffic in the recent Oklahoma storms, becoming a danger not only to themselves, but to other innocents as well.   It appears that there will soon be legislation developed that will make such lunacy a criminal offense under certain circumstances.

Wouldn't that be a hoot?  Tune into CNN and see Dave being hauled off in cuffs, his Aerostar minivan with the pretend radar unit on top laying crumpled in the ditch, Wal-Mart bags strewn everywhere, and him mumbling something about "It's Bushs fault".

Nigel, don't let that insolent poster get ya down. You were correct in what you posted - source or not - and he/she/it just argues for the sake of arguing. He should stick to those other boards as we sure do not miss him here. I think he has a case of boxersinabunch and it gives him a bad outlook on life.

Gosh Dave...it's clear he struck a nerve, but show me where Nigel "comedically compared" you or a past poster to storm chasers who were killed.  He described a news story on a Davenport radio station, but you weren't aware of it.  You apparently were aware of some other story that made no mention of the new legislation.  I believe he described a scenario where you fall victim to the new legislation.  Personally, I hope that it really happens that way.

Get over it.
