Oldham Forbes Estates

blue suburban

Posted in: Old Town Abilene
I have just witnessed a man(in a blue suburban), stop in front of our neighbors house and take photographs from his vehicle. I don't know if this is normal for property tax purposes. My neighbors cut down trees yesterday, because they are growing in the fence that seperates our properties. Neither of us have taken our tree limbs to the recycling center. We hope to do that today. But this vehicle also stopped on the other side of their house. I assume he took more pictures. Would anyone happen to know what this was about, by any chance. Or where I can call to find out more info?
Call police & ask questions!

The city employees all drive white vehicles with the city emblem. You usually see the tax district employees walking the neighborhood with a 'think pad' in order to enter the data (they take photos too). Also, quite often realtors take photos to establish the value of a house they are selling.
While it's legal to take photos from the public right of way of our property.
If you feel confident enough, just walk out and ask them what they are doing. If not, get a description and plate number and call the police. You are always within your rights to ask what are you doing and why are you here? This goes for your alley & dumpster too.

Thanks

I was told recently that it's illegal for anyone to use the dumpster except the residents it is assigned to. So you can call the waste department if you have continous problems or see someone 'dumpster diving'
